Where do I even start? I am walking and am getting more and more speedy with my walking. I love to walk outside, play outside, walk in the malls and stores, and just be on the move in general.
I am still doing better with my new transition to daycare and have even stopped crying in the mornings. It is an adjustment for all of us with schedules and all but we are really working to make sure that we have family times and activities to spend time together. We went to one of the local festivals and enjoyed the sun but definitely not the heat and humidity so we did not last too long.

Yesterday, we were scheduled to go to the zoo for family day but the weather just wasn't going to cooperate so we went to a mall and walked around and had dinner. That was a blast! I enjoyed playing in the play area with the other kids but most of all, I loved walking with mom through the mall. I waved at all the people who passed and just walked as much as I could. (Sorry for the poor picture quality, Mom forgot the camera)

Finally, one of my most favorite things to do is to play in my new play area that Mom and Dad developed in the backyard for me. I have so many activities to do that I can just play and play. I have even had a couple of playdates with friends and a recent visit to the splash pad. What fun!

My First Week and Mom's First Week
Last week marked my first week in daycare and Mom's first week on her new job. It was a pretty good week but we were both pretty tired. I am enjoying daycare so far although I do not like when Mom has to leave me in the morning. I enjoy playing with the other kids, singing, and dancing, but I am having a bit of separation anxiety. I am getting better though! I am going to be just fine and so is Mom, as soon as we get used to these early mornings . . .

Party, Party, Party
This weekend was my very first birthday party! It was all planned out and the guests were coming . . . we woke up to thunderstorms that were severe and continued all through the morning. The inflatable was set up in the backyard and the rain continued . . . Mom made a decision to move the party inside so we got started on the decorations, food, toys, and play area. It actually turned out ok. The party was fun, the kids enjoyed playing downstairs, making crafts, and the rain even let up long enough for us to get to use the inflatable for a couple of hours! It was a Pinky Dinky Doo party and I was the guest of honor! What fun!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Today was my official 1st birthday! It was pretty fun but I am looking forward to the weekend for my real celebration. Today, Mom and Dad took me to lunch and to play at the mall. While we were there, I got to make my first Build a Bear! Mom and Dad let me pick out the animal I wanted, the outfit, and well Mom picked out the shoes because I couldn't decide. It was fun. I named the cat, "Cutesy". She is pretty cute, just like me. All in all, it was a fun day but I will let you know how the party goes on Saturday.

The Life of the Party . . . or NOT?
So I was definitely NOT the life of this party!
Saturday was my Godbrother's 2nd birthday and we were all excited to go. I am getting my top two teeth though and I was feeling a bit cranky throughout the morning. I had to go though, I had a great dress, we got great gifts, and it was at the Science Center, it should be fun right? Fun, for who? My teeth hurt! You know how you go to a party and there is always a fussy kid, and everyone is secretly wondering, who is that fussy kid? I am sad to report that on this day, that fussy kid was me! Yes, me! Happy, playful, adventurous me! I did warm up a couple of times but other than that, I just wanted to get home, eat, and nap! I am really working this week to get these teeth in so that for my party this weekend, I definitely CAN be the life of the party!

More Breaking News About Our First Scare
We were going to update you on our visit to Java Jungle this week but more important news has emerged . . . As many of you may know, I have been such a healthy baby from the time that I was born. My pediatrician commented on it at every well visit. Well, it seems that almost year of health and wellness is now cathing up with me. I am only a week shy of turning one, and I am falling apart. Wow, I understand what people talk about now when they say that they are falling apart with age . . .
As I updated you before, I had to be rushed to the ER for a super high fever and then to the doctor on Friday for a check up. It appeared that things were going to turn around for me after the check up with the doctor since things looked better. I was taking my amoxicillin every morning and evening as instructed and I was sleeping through the night. Until . . .
. . . I woke up yesterday morning and Mom noticed my cheeks weren't just rosy, they were covered in a rash. How could this have happened? I was doing what the doctor had ordered, we didn't understand. Mom was pretty freaked out when she went to change me and put an outfit on me. It wasn't just my cheeks, I was covered with a rash; my cheeks, neck, back, arms, legs, and even a little on my feet. What had happened? Well since Mom saw that, she immediately called my pediatrician and they got me in yesterday afternoon. Good thing! Once we got in with the doctor, Mom updated her on my condition and told her about my change to milk. The doctor said immediately upon looking ar my rash - "she's allergic to the amoxicillin"! What?!? She asked if Mom or Dad was and no, they were not. I guess I am! She told us to stop the amoxicillin and to take oatmeal baths. Dad thought that was pretty funny! Mom immediately packed up from the doctor to head to CVS to get some Aveeno bath wash and lotion. She was able to find some oatmeal and fragrance free for my ezcema. Last night, Mom gave me a bath in it and coated me with lots of the oatmeal lotion. This morning, I woke up and my rash had started to merge together, it looks so wierd! What am I going to do about my birthday party?!? The doctor said we should see some improvements within a week but come on, a girl has to look her best for her party, right! The good thing is that I am getting back to myself, I am feeling much better, playing better, and eating better too. I am sure that Mom will update you on my condition . . .

Our First Scare . . .
Last week sure was a rough one, maybe the roughest I have had yet to date. I have had a couple of runny noses but that wasn't too bad because I felt okay. Well last Tuesday, I had the worst night! I was so uncomfortable. Every time that I ate, I threw everything back up. Mom and Dad resorted to bottles and liquid only but nothing would stay down. My temperature was up a little but not terrible, it was 100.4 but that was before later that night!
After several times of trying to go to sleep in my crib, it just wasn't working; I was so uncomfortable and truthfully, I needed to be cuddled. So since neither I nor Mom were getting any sleep, Mom got up and we slept together on the couch. At around 4am early Wednesday morning, I woke up on Mom and wow, was I hot!!! I mean hot!!! Mom got really worried because I had taken Motrin before finally going to sleep. Mom took my temperature and thought there was no way 104.3 was correct so she took it again and sure enough, 104.3 it was! While Mom got a cloth for my head to help with the temp, Dad got the Motrin, but no luck, because I even threw it up! With that, Dad said for us to throw on some clothes and head out.
We went to the hospital where I was born because it is so close! Now it would have been nice to see everyone from almost a year ago but under these circumstances, I was not excited! I felt horrible and was sooooo tired! When we got there, my temp had gone down a bit to 102.5 but the doctors still examined and tested everything. My diagnosis was a fever and ear infection. They sent me home with antibiotic and told us to follow up with my pediatrician in the next couple off days.
So that is just what we did . . . on Friday, we got in to the doctor and she re-exmined me. She said my ear was not too bad and with the vomiting and now diarrhea, she thinks it is the stomach flu. Since this was the first time that I have really been sick, Mom and Dad were a bit worried. Mom kept getting thrown up on every time she tried to feed me and I just wanted to be held all the time. They didn't mind the holding so much but were worried because I was not eating much at all. After a couple of days, I was doing a little better and am happy to report, I am feeling about 70% back to myself. I still do not have much of an appetite and I am sleeping a lot. Mom and Dad keep checking on me when I am sleeping because I am sleeping so much more than normal but we all hope that is the healing process. All of that sleeping may be helping with the sickness but it sure is giving me some serious bedhead!
