Yes, Mom packed our hospital bags this week. The journal that my aunt gave her said that it was time to do it at the 33 week mark, so technically, she waited. Well let's be honest, she had the bags started weeks ago, but finished this week. I am about 37 weeks now (yes, we are sticking with the original due date). She packed her bag of items and a few items for me as well. She gave Dad the list of items he should probably get prepared, but he is not joining in the early planning thing with us. I am sure Mom will have plenty of support with Mamaw, Papaw, Grandma, Uncles and Aunts, in case Dad needs to go home for some items once the time comes.
Ok Moms, anything to make sure we included that we may not have thought of???

I know Mom is on top of things and probably thought of everything, but here are a few suggestions...just in case. Deck of cards (just in case you're there a while before the action really starts), slippers (and some sort of quick on/off shoes for Dad), Chap Stick, mints/gum, calling card (you can't use your cell phone in the room; so in case you want to make a long distance call without having to go down the hall). You can't pack this in a bag, but be sure to bring an open mind and a sense of humor. You can't predict exactly what will happen...and sometimes your pride gets checked at the door. An open mind lets you really just enjoy this amazing time!
You may want to bring your own pillow. The ones at the hospital suck. I also like to bring my own night gown. I hate the hospital ones and snatch it off soon after delivery.
baby nail clippers or those hand mittens. Newborn fingers are long and they can scratch themselves. A baby brush for newborn pics, most hospitals just have baby combs but baby's hair is too fine for that just yet. Very good idea to have the bags packed, I kept saying I would but ultimately that and waiting on the sitter for Lil Suga is what caused a home delivery.
The first shower you get to take after delivery is the BEST THING EVER, so I highly recommend bringing your own familiar toiletries (in travel sizes) and your own comfy nightgown/robe/slippers. I'm gonna e-mail you a link to the list I used. I didnt necessarily need everything I brought, but I felt good having it there just in case!
And food...I know you're not technically supposed to have anything except ice chips, but I was always starving. I snuck a Snickers with DJ and a piece of chocolate cake with Cam ;)
I can't wait to see pictures of your little one. If you have a boppy take it with you. It will help when nursing.
You all are great! I'm taking all the feedback! Thanks.
