First Words . . . ?

Ok, I know you are thinking, no way, it is much too soon. Well Mom and Dad are convinced that I am well on my way to saying my first words. Maybe these are not words but I have muttered some sounds(I like to call them words). Mom had noticed that I had been moving my mouth alot whenever I was on my changing table. She tried to tell Dad she thought that I was trying to talk to them. Well last night, I proved to them why! I was trying to talk to them . . .

Last night laying on my changing table, I said it . . . ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. And then today when Dad walked past me without talking to me, I had to let him know that I needed attention, so I said it . . . da!

Mom and Dad acted really crazy about the whole thing. I don't understand it, they talk all the time! I am about to join their conversations.

It's Been A Long Time . . .

So I know that it has been a long time, but you can blame that one on my mom. She has been pretty busy with work and just got back from a trip to Washington DC. She really missed me but we have a lot of fun things to report.

First of all, my toy collection keeps building! Mamaw and Papaw got me toys for Christmas (my favorite is the boombox). My Granny P came last weekend to visit with me and she brought me a CD player and just yesterday, I got a laptop in the mail from my Aunt P. What is so great is that everybody gets me toys that play music. I am really enjoying them because I just love music!!! I am not sure how Mom and Dad feel about it because they make a lot of noise but I am sure they are fine as long as I am having fun!

Granny P visted for the weekend and I really enjoyed her visit. We did a little bit of shopping, watched movies, and enjoyed time together.

Mamaw and Papaw came on Monday to stay with me while Mom went on her trip. Since Dad had class and Mom was leaving that evening, they were going to help out. It was a lot of fun. Dad and Papaw worked on the bathroom renovation while Mamaw and I had a girls' day out. We shopped the day away!

I was happy when Mom returned very early this morning. I smiled so big when I saw her! It was sure great to have all of my visitors. I am a pretty special girl!

5 Months and Still Growing . . .

Today, I turned 5 months old and let me tell you, I have only just begun! I am getting so big and really developing my own personality. I am kinda stubborn already and love to have things my way! I am so happy, smiling and laughing all the time. I love spending time with my mom and dad, especially playing. I even have quite a style already! I am well on my way and continue to meet many of my milestones and gain lots of favorites.

MILESTONES:
Rolling over
Sitting up (almost without support)
Trying to stand
Eating cereal
Sleeping at least 4-5 hours at night (HALLELUAH!)
Riding in my new convertible carseat (I got too long for the carrier)

FAVORITES:
Playing in general (especially my seahorse, doll, and book)
Still loving my swing
Checking out Mom and Dad's iphone
Singing and talking
Listening to stories
Trying to repeat whatever Mom and Dad say (I am trying to start early)

Holidays in Ohio

We just arrived back home from spending the holidays with Mom's family, including Mamaw, Papaw, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was a lot of fun and you could not imagine all the gifts I got . . . I got my first baby doll, books, DVDs, several new toys, walker, lots of cute outfits, two pair of boots, and so much more that I am sure I am forgetting something.

Mom and Dad would not let me open my toys but they did let me open one. It was a seahorse that played music. I had a lot of fun with the seahorse. Dad even named it for me, her name is Sharyl the seahorse. She helped to put me to sleep last night. When Mom unpacked my stuff this evening, we had fun trying out the other toys, such as my boombox and doll. I love them both. I cannot wait to play with the rest of them and model my new outfits! Family is the best!
