6 Month Appointment

Yesterday, Dad took me to my 6th Month appointment. It was a little overdue but better late than never. My pediatrician is pretty popular so it is often hard to get in quickly. Needless to say . . . here is how it went.

My stats are: Weight-16 pounds (50%) and Height-26 inches long (80%). Mom and Dad think I have definitely grown more than just a half inch since last time so they are planning their own measuring time.

I have started waking back up in the night so Dad asked about that. The doctor said that I may need more food. Right now, I have been eating 2 meals a day and bottles but he suggested maybe it was time for 3! I may be hungry at night. He also coached Dad on how to help me develop sleep patterns where I become more consistent in sleeping through the night. We are well on our way!

Lastly and sadly, I had to get more shots. I looked at my nurse very disapprovingly when she came in because I remembered her; she gave me those pokes last time. After I gave her the death look, she still proceeded to poke me! I screamed but afterwards, Dad did a good job settling me down. Today, I am okay but my legs sure do hurt. I took some Tylendol to relax me and I should be fine by tomorrow. I am just hanging out with Dad and Lexy right now, she must know I do not feel good.

Tummy Time

Every day Mom and Dad give me what is called Tummy Time. I used to hate it but I have to admit, I am getting a lot better with it. They put me on one of my fun blankets and lay toys all around it. Although I am catching on to their game, it still is a nice work-out. I don't even cry during Tummy Time anymore; as a matter of fact, I pretty much do whatever I like when I am in Tummy Time.

I like to watch "Pinky Dinky Doo" from my tummy,

Play with my toys

and the best thing - roll over onto my back. Mom is always so determined to give me Tummy Time but I have become so good at rolling over, I make the decision now when I am done. I think that I am hot stuff but I am having a lot of fun learning to be mobile!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I want to take this chance to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! I spent my day with Mom and Dad and we shared a family Valentine's Day this year. This morning, Dad got up and made breakfast and shortly after I took my nap. Once I got up from my morning nap, I got a bag of goodies for Valentine's from Mom and Dad. I really liked my gifts. Once we had taken care of that, well it was time to put on my outfit. Mom was very determined to have me in red today to celebrate the day! Fortunately Mamaw and Papaw had gotten me a pair of red pants and new red coat. I was pretty fancy! We took a few pictures and then headed out to enjoy our day and evening out. We had a great family Valentine's Day. I sure am glad that Mom and Dad shared it with me on my very first one!

Can You Believe It? 6 Months Old!

Yes, you read correctly. I am 1/2 year old and having a ball! Mom and Dad thought it would be fun to take some pictures in some of my cute outfits. It was pretty cool but I kept spitting up and messing up the outfits. So we stopped after two outfits because we had all had enough (notice all the slobber). Mom and Dad swear that I am the cutest baby ever! My grandparents would agree, I am sure:)

With getting older comes some new favorites and milestones . . .

*Playing with my feet
*Chewing on my fingers
*Playing in my exersaucer
*Wrestling with Dad
*Sharing kisses with Mom
*Growling (don't ask!)

I really enjoy becoming more mobile. I am not sure how Mom and Dad feel about it but I cannot wait until I can do even more!

Mmm Mmm Good . . . Sweet Potatoes

Well I am in love with food! Mom and Dad were a little concerned when they tried to first give me cereal and I was not interested at all. They waited a few weeks and added a tad of baby juice and now I am eating it like a pro. Mom and Dad decided that I was pretty good and my cereal was thicker, so maybe I would like vegetables? As my doctor instructed, we started with the yellow squash for a few days. I have been having it for dinner for the last couple of days and well, it was alright I guess. Well tonight Mom decided to move on to the next food that my doctor suggested, sweet potatoes. Now . . . they looked a bit darker than my squash so I was not sure of that first bite. After that bite though, I was a machine! I inhaled those sweet potatoes. They were SOOOOOO good. Take a look! Mmm, Mmm, Good!

SuperBowl and More

Last night was not only the SuperBowl, but it also marked some other exciting events going on with me!

As I got geared up for the festivities, Mom and Dad wanted to be sure I saw my first SuperBowl in style. While they were waiting for it to all start, they gave me the big seat, and put together my exersaucer and highchair. Now, we have had these since before I was born but we all agreed I was getting big enough to enjoy them. I sat in the big girl chair, enjoyed the pregame, and watched Mom and Dad struggle to put these things together. I even made a comment or two on the game!

I really enjoyed the game, but I was pretty entertained by my new things as well. The exersaucer is pretty cool and I can move myself around it pretty good. My favorite part is to pull down the flower and try to eat it. I am teething so everything goes in my mouth.

I have been eating so good and even started some yellow squash and my seat was working. I am getting a little bigger now and I can wiggle my way around in it. My big girl highchair is pretty cool, it has a lot of toys on it, that sing and have lights, so of course I love it. I ate my dinner and breakfast in there and it worked out pretty good.

All in all, I would say that we had a great evening! Everyone enjoyed laughing, eating, and watching the game. Oh and watching me :)
